Protest & Design Tutor
I am a practicing artist and have a studio in Margate, Kent. I live with my wife and daughter in nearby Broadstairs. We moved here from London in 2015
I Co-Direct Limbo Arts, Margate, a not-for-profit studio space, catering for Fine Arts practitioners and incorporating a small Project Space for use by artists and art organisations alike, for selected events. Limbo has worked with Margate Now, Turner Contemporary, Arts Car Boot Fair and many others.
I have studio- based practice including painting and printmaking and am represented by Frestonian Gallery, London. I have a solo presentation planned for 2022, and frequently exhibit through the gallery at international art fairs and in group exhibitions. I currently have work displayed with Lisa Schiff’s SFA Gallery, New York and at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. I also work with print publishers- King and MacGaw and Art Gazette.
I studied Printmaking at the RCA and then went on to occupy the position of Print Fellow for a further 3 years. I continue to teach at The Royal Academy on occasion and, until the pandemic was due to teach a programme of short courses. I also teach regularly at CSM on the Short Courses Programme.
I currently teach at London Met University and have held various positions since I began in 2015. I am Print Tutor leading the Module for Level 4. I have previously taught Painting, Drawing and - within VIz Com, led several projects involving Print, Graphic Design and Drawing.
I am a flexible and versatile teacher and have been teaching at HE since 2005. I have a PGCE awarded from London Institute of Education.
Previous roles include: Workshop Leader for Tate Modern – where I designed and delivered Workshops based on the current exhibitions programme between 2006 and 2013, Bournemouth UAL, Print Tutor, Camberwell School of Art, Sculpture Tutor, and Workshop Leader at Standpoint Gallery.
